If you have more than one PC in your household and would like to enjoy the many benefits of a home network such as sharing a broadband connection, multiplayer video games, or sharing files and printers, decaturpc.com can install a wired/wireless, network quickly and cleanly.

A home network typically requires one router / switch located in a centralized location and network interface cards (NIC) in each PC to be connected to the network. Most newer computers have NICs built in already, and most laptops have wireless adapters and NICs. Pricing for network installation is for labor only. If you provide us with required hardware, your only cost is labor. Otherwise, we will acquire the network hardware from a local vender and your cost will be what we paid. We do not mark up hardware for profit and are only interested in marketing services. The customer would be provided with a copy of the receipt obtained from the hardware vender and the our total invoice would reflect the amount shown on the receipt minus any rebates we would receive.

Wired Network
Your router will have both wired and wireless capability however, when home PCs are located where accessibility allows for a wired network to be installed and are not likely to be moved from the present location, decaturpc.com recommends a wired network. Wired networks are unaffected by crosstalk from other networks and the result is a more stable and consistent connection. Also, when transferring large files, wired networks are currently faster. Decaturpc will install a 100 Mbps network, with the capability of 1000 Mbps (cat5e) for future upgrades. Our installations use junction boxes and flush wall plates for a clean and professional look. Overall, you can expect a wired network to be a bit more expensive to install, but we feel the consistency makes it a better choice if you have stationary computers.
